Who am I ?
Perrine Géraudie, Environmental Toxicologist (PhD)

After completing my doctorate, I worked for 11 years in Tromsø at a Norwegian research institute, studying the effects of environmental contaminants on aquatic ecosystems.
Although originally from the south of France, I particularly enjoyed living in Scandinavia for the beauty of its landscapes, nature, quality of life and Norwegian culture.
During my years abroad, I was able to combine my passions for research, the environment and outdoor sports.
I loved exploring this small island and the mountains around Tromsø by bike, running and all kinds of skiing.
My work has also enabled me to explore more distant horizons on scientific missions all over the world.
I have had the privilege of discovering over 15 different countries during my scientific missions, but also on vacations.
Probably the most exotic place I discovered was Spitsbergen. This small island in the Arctic Ocean is a unique place in the world, where everything is so singular.
People are allowed to carry a gun to protect themself from the polar bears that come to the city center in search of food. The midnight sun in summer and the polar night in winter, which blurs all spatial and temporal reference points, the snowmobiles that are the main means of transport in winter, the wild animals that live alongside the locals - reindeer, Arctic foxes, Arctic sterns.
